Phoenix
concerto for piano and orchestra
“Phoenix” concert for piano and orchestra, takes the Phoenix as a symbol of transformation, but explores its meaning above all through a musical study of fire: its energy, even before it becomes flame, the forms through which it manifests itself, its capacity to spread and, finally, its destructive force. Alongside fire appears water, an element apparently opposed to it, yet deeply akin to it. Neither has a defined form, and both are capable of rippling and spreading; both possess an ambivalent nature: they can be gentle and enveloping, or impetuous and destructive. Thus, at the heart of the concerto, water becomes almost a mirror image of the flame.
Triple Concerto for Trio & Orchestra
piano, violin, cello and orchestra
Il flauto è inteso nella sua valenza più antica — strumento del soffio, della voce non verbale, del passaggio fra mondi — e il rapporto con gli archi è articolato come colloquio, non come confronto virtuosistico.
